Understanding X, X’s & ½ a X, Pt. 4


Understanding the number of days in "time, times & half a time" (X, X's & ½ a X) requires a working knowledge of the Hebrew calendar. Developing this knowledge is made easier by dividing the Hebrew calendar in half, calculating the number of days for each half, then adding the two halves back together.

The 1st half of a Hebrew year, which begins in the spring, is always a fixed 177 days in length.

The 2nd half of the year is not fixed and begins in the fall. This half varies in its number of days.

The 8th and 9th months vary a day for each month in a given year. These 2 months have 29 or 30 days as demonstrated in Table 1. When both months have 29 days, the total number of days for the 2nd half of a year is 176. If the 8th or 9th month has 29 days and the other has 30 days, the total number of days is 177. If both months have 30 days, the total number of days is 178. In a leap year, an additional month of 30 days is added, bringing the total number of days for the 2nd half of the year to 206, 207 or 208.

With the Great Tribulation beginning on the Feast of Trumpets (Hos. 9:5, 7a, 5:7), calculating X, X's & ½ a X must begin on the Feast of Trumpets. This places the starting point on the 1st day of the 7th month (Lev. 23:24) at the beginning of the 2nd half of the year.

Note: In a leap year the 12th month becomes the 13th month and the leap month becomes the 12th month. Refer to Table 1.

The table above allows for calculating X, X's & ½ a X from the Feast of Trumpets to the Feast of Trumpets in the next year. The final ½ a X period begins on the Feast of Trumpets and concludes in the spring, 6 months later. Refer to Pt. 3 for a visual timeline of this sequence.

Beginning in the first year of this new 19-year time cycle, which began at sunset on April 8, 2016, calculations for X, X's & ½ a X can easily be computed. Below are several 3½ year sequences for examination.

The 30 day difference between these two 3½ year sequences results from the 2nd half of year in 2021 being part of a leap year.

The next four sequences of X, X's & ½ a X show the variation of days a 3½ year

sequence can have.

These sequences reveal X, X's & ½ a X have a different number of days, depending on which 3½ year sequence is calculated. During this new 19-year time cycle, X, X's & ½ a X can be a total of 1269 days, 1270 days, 1271 days, 1272 days, 1298 days or 1300 days.
