Nearly 4,000 years ago, God changed the name of the biblical patriarch Jacob to Israel. At the same time, He also made a significant promise to Jacob about his descendants.
“And God said to him, Your name is Jacob; your name shall not be called Jacob anymore, but Israel. Also God said to him: I am God Almighty. Be fruitful and multiply; a nation and company of nations shall proceed from you, and kings shall come from your body” (Gen. 35:10-11).
There are 3 aspects to this promise:
1) some of Jacob’s descendants would become a great nation, while
2) other descendants would become a company of nations, and
3) from these descendants, kings and rulers of nations would be born.
The identity of these descendants is to be found in Genesis 48 when Jacob conferred on the 2 sons of Joseph, the birthright blessing. Notice the interesting exchange Jacob had with Joseph who objected to his father setting the 2nd born son, Ephraim, over the 1st born son, Manasseh.
“And Joseph said to his father, Not so, my father, for this one is
the firstborn; put your right hand on his head. But his father refused and said, I know my son, I know. He also shall be (a) great (nation); but truly his younger brother shall be greater than he, and his descendants shall become a multitude (commonwealth) of nations. So Jacob blessed them that day, saying, By you Israel will bless, saying, May God make you as Ephraim and Manasseh! And thus he set Ephraim before Manasseh” (vs 18-20).
The descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh were to share in the birthright blessing. These descendants would be differentiated as a company or commonwealth of nations and a great nation. These descendants were to become nations that could not be easily overlooked in the panorama of history. Who are the descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh and are they in existence today?
Yes, they are in existence today!!!
The descendants of the these brothers are identified, for those interested in understanding, as the people of Great Britain and the United States of America.
Proof of existence
In speaking of their identity, Mr. Herbert W. Armstrong wrote the following in his book, “The United States and Britain in Prophecy.”
“While the birthright was Joseph’s, and its blessings have come to the British Commonwealth of Nations and the United States of America . . .” page 104
On page 106, he wrote,
“In passing the birthright promise the dying Jacob (Israel) said of Ephraim and Manasseh, sons of Joseph, “. . . let my name be named on them” (Gen. 48:16). Hence it is THEY—the descendants of Ephraim (the British) and Manasseh (Americans)—not the Jews, who are referred to in prophecy under the names of Jacob or Israel.”
In his book titled, “America, The Last Frontier for Manasseh,” Des Thomas points out, on page 135, the Hebrew language origin of the word “British.”
“The Hebrew word for “covenant” is “Beriyth,” and the Hebrew equivalent for the word “man” is “ish.” Thus, since “Brith” (1285) means “covenant,” and “ish,” (376) “man,” then we see that our word “British” denotes “Covenant man,” or “People of the Covenant.”
Yair Davidiy, in his book, “The Tribes,” 4th edition, page 440, says the following about the identity of Ephraim and Manasseh.
“The people of America in the early days of colonization came from all parts of Britain and later from all over the world. Most of the Tribe of Manasseh in existence today is to be found in the USA having been separated out from their Ephraimite (British) brethren by Divine Providence.”
The modern descendants of Ephraim and Manasseh are the white, English speaking peoples of Britain and the United States. These peoples are the ones designated by God to receive the benefits of the birthright blessing.
Few understand this ancestral line of the British and American peoples, and even fewer understand why these countries have been blessed by God.
Blessings and Curses
God’s Word makes clear His blessings are attached to obeying His Law.
“Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God:” (Deut. 28:1-2).
The countries of Britain and America have enjoyed top status among the nations of this world. This includes economic influence, national security and bountiful material blessings. This type of influence and prosperity has never been enjoyed by any other nation in the history of mankind.
God also makes it clear His blessings will be taken away for disobedience of His Law.
“But it shall come to pass, if you do not obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments and His statutes which I command you today, that all these curses will come upon you and overtake you:” (Deut. 28:15).
Any nation which God has blessed will see their global influence, national security and material blessings taken away for disobedience. Failure to obey God leads to national decline and eventually national destruction. And that is exactly what has been happening in Britain and America since the end of World War II.
Removal of blessings
It is important to keep in mind that God has blessed Britain and America and it is God who will take those blessings away. Part this removal will occur through sickness and disease.
“If you do not carefully observe all the words of this law that are written in this book, that you may fear this glorious and awesome name, THE LORD YOUR GOD, then the LORD will bring upon you and your descendants extraordinary plagues –great and prolonged sicknesses. Moreover He will bring back on you all the diseases of Egypt, of which you were afraid, and they shall cling to you” (Deut. 28:59-60).
He will also remove His blessings through military defeat and national captivity.
“And it shall be, that just as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good and multiply you, so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you and bring you to nothing; and you shall be plucked (torn) from off the land which you go to possess. Then the LORD will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other, and there you shall serve other gods, which neither you nor your fathers have known—wood and stone. And among those nations you shall find no rest, nor shall the sole of your foot have a resting place; but there the LORD will give you a trembling heart, failing eyes and anguish of soul. Your life shall hang in doubt before you; you shall fear day and night, and have no assurance of life. And the LORD will take you back to Egypt in ships, by way of which I said to you, You shall never see it again. And there you shall be offered for sale to your enemies as male and female slaves, but no one will buy you” (Deut. 28:63-66, 68).
Wickedness exposed
The 2016 election of Donald J. Trump has openly exposed the wickedness of the United States of America.
This wickedness has manifested itself in the Democrat party, which has pursued false claims against President Trump in their perverse quest for power. It has also exposed establishment Republicans as having no spine for upholding the principles of truth and justice upon which America was founded. The judicial branch of American government is proving more corrupt each day, rendering rulings based on ideology rather than the original intent of the Constitution to ensure justice. The alphabet deep state is actively working against the interests of the American people by undermining the constitutional framework designed to protect and promote the God-given liberties bestowed upon the United States.
This wickedness is blatantly flouted in the news media which has joined the effort to undermine America through false reporting and activities that seek to drive a narrative based on outright lies. Corporations have joined this wicked effort by trying to consolidate power and market share through business practices that hurt the average American. These corporations also fund groups that flame hatreds in America’s streets while censoring information which differs from the established narrative.
Long ago the prophet Isaiah accurately described what is taking place in Britain & America today.
“In transgressing and lying against the LORD, And departing from our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood. Justice is turned back, And righteousness stands a far off; For truth has fallen in the street, And equity cannot enter. So truth fails, And he who departs from evil makes himself a prey (Isa. 59:13-15).”
And then the people themselves have become corrupted. Every segment of society is breaking down, leaving a trail of broken lives and families. The churches, which should have the answers to societal problems, are unable to articulate the solutions. Even worse, these churches have become part of the problem in promoting the same anti-freedom agenda of America’s enemies.
Britain and America have become morally and spiritually sick at all levels of society.
“Alas sinful nation, A people laden with iniquity, A brood of evildoers, Children who are corrupters! . . . The whole head is sick, And the whole heart faints. From the sole of the foot even to the head, There is no soundness in it . . .” (Isa. 1:4a, 5b-6a).
Because of their wicked spiritual condition, Isaiah tells what God’s actions toward the modern descendants of Ephraim & Manasseh will be.
“Therefore the LORD will cut off head and tail from Israel, Palm branch and bulrush in one day. The elder and honorable, he is the head; The prophet who teaches lies, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err, And those who are led by them are destroyed” (Isa. 9:14-16).
Britain and America’s days are now numbered. Soon God’s punishment will descend upon these modern descendants of Ephraim & Manasseh.
But how will this punishment come to pass?
“The Great Reset”
Most people fail to understand God’s hand in the affairs of mankind. He is responsible for who leads nations of this world and who does not.
Daniel explained this fact to King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon in Daniel 4:25b, saying “that the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever He chooses.”
The year 2020 has witnessed a global effort to bring down the birthright nations of Britain and the United States. This effort is called the “The Great Reset.” Its purpose is to reset the birthright blessings God has bestowed on white English speaking peoples.
Klaus Schwab, founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, explains in his article, "Now is the time for a 'Great Reset'" how this elimination of God’s blessings should occur.
"To achieve a better outcome, the world must act jointly and swiftly to revamp all aspects of our societies and economies, from education to social contracts and working conditions. Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed. In short, we need a 'Great Reset' of capitalism."
Mr. Schwab and proponents of “The Great Reset” fail to understand it is only God who gives the blessings of capitalism and it is only God who can take them away. Democrats, Republicans, Black Lives Matter, Antifa, deep state players and corporate executives need to realize this too.
Make no mistake, the birthright blessings of Britain and America will be taken away for disobedience by God. The only question is how?
“Make a chain, For the land is filled with crimes of blood, And the city is full of violence. Therefore I will bring the worst of the Gentiles, And they will possess their houses; I will cause the pomp of the strong to cease, And their holy places shall be defiled. Destruction comes; They will seek peace, but there shall be none. Disaster will come upon disaster, And rumor upon rumor. Then they will seek a vision from a prophet; But the law will perish from the priest, And counsel from the elders” (Ezek. 7:23-26).
For disobedient and wicked behavior God is going to bring punishment on the peoples of Britain and America through outside forces. And when it comes all segments of society will know why.
“The king will mourn, The prince will be clothed with desolation, And the hands of the common people will tremble.” God says, “I will do to them according to their way, And according to what they deserve I will judge them; Then they shall know that I am the LORD!” (Ezek. 7:27).
The Great Creator God and no else will be responsible for resetting His blessings!!!
2020
How do these prophecies toward Britain and America apply as the year 2020 comes to a close?
Currently, Britain is trying to negotiate a final deal over its decision to leave the European Union. This is being done in the midst of the economic uncertainties brought on by the China virus. Failure to negotiate terms favorable to both sides will deepen animosities between European countries and Britain.
In America, a constitutional crisis is developing over the 2020 presidential election. As things stand, the news media and Joe Biden himself have proclaimed he is the president-elect without constitutional certification. If this is the case a Biden administration will immediately revert back, with lightning speed, to America’s pre-Trump globalist agenda. This would be an outright rejection of the Trump effort to “Make America Great Again.”
The big question is, “Will America uphold its Constitution and fix the election fraud of 2020 or allow a global attack on its constitutional form of government to stand?
Bible prophecy does not picture the British and American peoples becoming part of any global structure that resets God’s blessings to the rest of the world. This is exactly what a Biden administration will do, becoming the Obama administration on steroids.
Therefore Joe Biden will not be the next President of the United States.
It is about what God wants
Had God wanted Britain to stay in the European Union, Brexit would not have occurred.
Had God wanted America to continue on its path toward globalism, Donald Trump would not be President.
The United States Constitution is a document Divinely inspired to deal with those who would seek to overthrow God’s blessings. If America’s leaders do not properly apply the Constitution at this time, then it will become a facade of freedom as Samuel Adams said.
“The sum of all is, if we would most truly enjoy the gift of Heaven, let us become a virtuous people; then shall we both deserve and enjoy it. While, on the other hand, if we are universally vicious and debauched in our manners, though the form of our Constitution carries the face of the most exalted freedom, we shall in reality be the most abject slaves.”
If America’s founding documents are not upheld in regard to the 2020 presidential election, her actions will mirror those of King Jehoiakim throwing Jeremiah’s scroll into the fire (Jer. 36).
God’s Word shows that the reality of slavery will come on the British and American peoples for their gross violations of God’s Law.
Time to wake-up
These circumstances should be a major wake-up call for God’s Church.
Few within the Church today seem to understand the warning message and witness of impending danger has already gone out (Mt 24:14).
Unfortunately, it will take the same punishment of Britain and America to bring God’s Church to repentance.
“When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls (individuals) of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth? Then a white robe was given to each of them and it was said to them that they should rest (remain dead) a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed (Rev. 6:9-11).”
NOW, is the time for the Church of God to HEED Christ’s message of repentance before it is too late!!!
“As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be(come) zealous and repent” (Rev. 3:19).
“He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
Amended comments

Mr. Herbert W, Armstrong said that when God’s True Church is wrong, once the error is found, it would be immediately corrected.
In December of 2020, following the US Presidential election, M24S posted a blog titled, “Why Joe Biden Will Not Be President.”
The premise for this prediction was based on the governing principles of the US Constitution providing the direction lawmakers needed to resolve the serious questions concerning Joe Biden being elected.
Obviously, M24S was wrong in its prediction as Mr. Biden has been sworn in as America’s 46th President.
A Biden presidency relegates America’s governing documents to the dustbin of history as a failed experiment in the effort of self-government.
Joe Biden’s appointment has resulted because the judicial, legislative & executive branches of both state and federal government have failed to uphold their constitutional responsibilities to insure the 2020 election was constitutionally legal.
M24S did not anticipate such a colossal failure, which will have serious ramifications for the American people.
Mr. Biden’s “Destroy America First” agenda will undo all the hard work of President Trump’s “America First” efforts meant to restore the United States to a position as the world’s respected and feared leader.
New Senate Majority Leader, Chuck Schumer said that if Democrats won 2 Georgia Senate seats, they would change the world. He is right the world is going to change, but not in a way people are going to like, including Chuck Schumer.
“Yet I am the LORD your God, Ever since the land of Egypt, And you shall know no God but Me; For there is no savior besides Me. When they had pasture, they were filled; They were filled and their heart was exalted; Therefore they forgot Me. So I will be to them like a lion; Like a leopard by the road I will lurk; I will meet them like a bear deprived of her cubs; I will tear open their rib cage, And there I will devour them like a lion. The wild beast shall tear them. (Hos. 13:4, 6-8)
The efforts of the Democrat party to have Joe Biden appointed President of the United States and the feckless Republican party to prevent it is a sign our national punishment is near.
Mr. Armstrong warned about this punishment for over 50 years (Jer. 30:7).
Mr. Biden will not bring unity to America. His administration is going to quickly make this world a very dangerous place to live (Matt. 24:21-22)!!!
